Old School Park Stylee

June 11, 2008 – 6:57 pm

The “new” city park in Chico is a concrete jungle joke.

NIN - The Slip (More Free Music!)

May 5, 2008 – 1:19 am

Nine Inch Nails is a band I would otherwise not typically follow. However, when a group gives out their latest album for free I tend to take notice. Follow this link if you want to take a listen:

Free Music: Blueprint VS Funkadelic

April 30, 2008 – 11:37 am

This release really snuck up on me. Finding it was really just a fluke, and I am damn glad I stumbled my way there. It can currently be downloaded for free, or it can be purchased as 1 of 500 limited edition CDs. I am really liking the way some artists are taking distribution lately. So many are being creative with “download for free”, “choose your own price”, “extremely cheap”, or “buy it, but get a little extra” methods of online distribution.

Was Grandpa Really A Badass?

April 26, 2008 – 3:05 pm

As a kid, ever wonder why Grandpa always exuded the scent of being able to knock out a moose in a single punch? Probably because he was using this stuff. I snagged a pack at S&S this week. It definitely gives off the smell of rugged.

Luckily they also make this and this.

King Corn (Documentary)

April 15, 2008 – 11:52 pm

Tonight PBS’s Independent Lenses program aired an excellent documentary on the Corn Industry in the United States, specifically the commodity corn that goes into the production of ethanol, cattle feed, and high fructose corn syrup. As somebody that previously had only a vague idea of the process I highly recommend taking a look at this movie. At times it is even quite goofy (funny), if you like subtle and deadpan humor. It also points out some of the absurdities that exist in our subsidy style agriculture.

Al Gore: New Thinking on the Climate Crisis

April 14, 2008 – 11:23 am

Here we have Al Gore’s newest slide show about climate change, the urgency we should have to change our habits, and how humans have the ability ro rise to the occasion when the moment requires. The video runs for about 22 minutes, and I highly recommend viewing it.

WordPress Testing

April 12, 2008 – 5:36 pm

I am testing out WordPress as an Alternative to Blogger. I pay for webspace, and I use it with Blogger, but why not use a premium service like Wordpress when you have the facilities.
